Betty Thompson Mikell, 85 , of Savannah passed away Wednesday, July 12th, 2017 at Hospice Savannah.
A native of Statesboro, Georgia ,she was the daughter of John Thompson and Ora Caldwell. She was a graduate of Marvin Pittman Laboratory School.
She served as a XRay Film Librarian for Memorial Medical Center, and then served as a Clerk in the Chatham County Tag Office.
She was a life long member of the Derenne Avenue Church of God, which later became Coastal Cathedral Church of God, where she was very active.
She was preceded in death by her Husband: James Doster MIkell, Sr., and her parents John P. Thompson and Ora Caldwell Thompson.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jo M. McCutchen, Judy Mikell Shearouse (Jimmy) both of Savannah, her son James Doster "Jimmy" Mikell Jr. (Brenda) of Bluffton, SC, one brother: John P. "Buck" Thompson, Jr., Rossville, Ga; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a number of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 3 pm to 5 pm, Sunday July 16th, 2017 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
