Betty Jean Banks Reavis, age 87, of Savannah, GA passed away August 31, 2021, peacefully at home with her family after a short illness. She was born to the late Ralph Alton and Lucille Warren Banks on April 14, 1934, in Savannah, where she lived her entire life. She married the late Robert Edgar “Bob” Reavis at Calvary Baptist Temple in 1956 and they were inseparable for 65 years until his passing on November 19, 2020. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and worked as an operator for AT&T for ten years until 1961. A life-long dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Temple, she was the model of strength, righteousness, faith, and devotion in our Lord Jesus Christ to her family and friends.
In addition to Bob and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Craig Thomas Reavis. Surviving is a son, Mark Alton Reavis; a daughter, Lisa Ann Reavis, both of Savannah; seven grandchildren, Mark Alton Reavis, Jr., Anna Elizabeth Reavis, Christopher Lynah Reavis, Matthew Raymond Grooms, Adam Robert Grooms, Timothy Alton Grooms, and Daniel Jeffrey Grooms; and her brother, Ralph Alton Banks, Jr. of North Palm Beach, FL.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 315 Greenwich Road, Savannah, GA 31404.
