Marguerite Betty Durham

Betty Marguerite Durham, age 92, of Savannah passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Mrs. Durham was born on February 19, 1931 in Savannah to the late Carroll Barden, Sr. and the late Amanda Susan Davis Durham.

Marguerite graduated from Pfeiffer Junior College in North Carolina with her twin sister, Marjorie Barden Jarrett, where they studied to be secretaries. After graduation, she worked as an executive secretary for the president of Burlington Industries in Greensboro, NC. She spent the rest of her career as a legal secretary, working in Greeley, CO and Savannah, GA, where she retired from Georgia Legal Services.

Survivors include her daughter, Amanda, of Atlanta; and sister, Marjorie, of Albemarle, NC.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwich Cemetery (330 Greenwich Road Savannah, GA 31404).
