Bertie Knight Howard

Bertie Knight Howard, 81, of Savannah, died Dec. 13, 2016 at Dunwoody Health and Rehab Center in Atlanta, GA. She was born in Madison County, Ga., to Charlie and Reather Lord, but moved to Savannah in 1951. Bert was one of five children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Howard. She was previously married to the late Kenneth M. Knight of Savannah and the late Gaston Barras of Port Wentworth.
Bert was a Sales Associate, having worked for many years for J. B. White Inc., as well as Builderama Building and Supply Company. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Garden City, Ga.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Laura Knight, of Savannah, Ga; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Gary Green of Murrayville, Ga; Kim and Dale Simmons of Savannah, Ga; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and, a sister, Jackie Lord Roy of North Augusta, South Carolina. Bert is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah.
