Bertie L. Bethune

Bertie L. Bethune, 85, of Kennesaw, GA went home to be with the Lord November 14, 2021.

Mrs. Bethune was born on March 17, 1936 in Savannah, GA. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Savannah. She worked for the church for 23 years and served in the church nursery for 53 years. She was greatly loved by her family and extended family. The greatest loves of her life were her Savior, her husband, her children and family and the many children and families that she cared for in her church nursery ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cribbs and Katie Lou Cribbs Counts; three sisters, Jane “Snookie” Skinner, Wilhelmina “Willie” Reed, and Mary Lou Cribbs; eldest son, William “Gene” Bethune, Jr.; and son in law, David McDaniel.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, William “Billy” Bethune, Sr.; five children, Brad Quackenbush (Tammy), Gail McDaniel, Margerite Prevatte (Joe), John Bethune (Tammy), and Shelby Cadwallader (Tom); loving nieces, Crystal Thornton (Bo) and Donna Miller (Kevin); twenty grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren; two great great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Bible Baptist Church 4700 Skidaway Road Savannah, GA from 10am-12pm with services immediately following on Friday, November 19, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bible Baptist Church Building Fund.
