Benjamin Harrison Jacobs

Benjamin Harrison “Jake” Jacobs, age 85, of Savannah, Georgia passed away Friday, April 21, 2023 in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Jake was born July 7, 1937 to the parents of Mamie Foster and Benjamin Jacobs in Walthourville, Georgia. At the young age of nineteen, he joined the United States Coast Guard. After service, he relocated to Savannah, Georgia where he began working in commercial construction and later retired from I.A.M. construction.
On September 7, 1968 Jake married the love of his life and best friend Mrs. Betty Marchant Parker. Mr. and Mrs. Jacobs were very heavily blessed with children. They dedicated their lives to serving the Lord and opened their hearts and home to fostering countless children providing a loving forever family. Their love for one another and dedication to their marriage was inspiring to all.
Jakes faith took his heart and made him well. (Mark 5:34) He was the Head Elder at Evangel Temple Full Gospel Church where he worshipped for more than 4 decades. He was a member of Tres Dias and volunteered as a Boy Scout Ranger. Jakes hobbies included fishing, racing cars and watching western movies. Between his faith, his family, and friends, his life was fulfilled.
Jake is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roy; his sisters, Dorothy, and Deborah; his daughter, Bonnie; his son, Eugene; and his granddaughter, Kristi.
He is survived by his beautiful bride of 54 years, Mrs. Betty Jacobs; his children, William (Carole), Rebecca, Richard, Benjamin (Marilyn), Beverly (David), Tony (Brooke), Lisa (Adam), Thomas, Elizabeth (Thomas), Parker, Lisa (Michael), Angela, Brian, Jamie, Staci; a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; his sisters, Peggy, and Jackie; his brother, Kenneth (Cindy); many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia, 31406.
A funeral service to honor Jake will be held at Evangel Temple Full Gospel Church, 5704 Jasmine Avenue, Savannah, Georgia 31406 at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
A burial will follow at Greenwich Cemetery, 330 Bonaventure Road, Thunderbolt, Georgia 31404.
