Barney Moore

Barney I. Moore, age 90, of Savannah passed away Monday, September 12, 2022.

Mr. Moore was born in Savannah on November 20,1931 to the late Jessie Harvey Moore and the late Mittie Mae Cribbs McAllister. He was raised in the Bingville area. Mr. Moore attended local schools and was a graduate of ICS Engineering School. He retired from the City of Savannah after 35 and a half years of service. In addition, he was the owner of Barney Moore General Surveying and the co-owner of Moore Motors. Mr. Moore was a veteran having served in the Army National Guard, 48th Division, 118th Artillery. He was also a charter member of Robert McIntire United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Margaret C. Moore; brother, Arthur Edward "Ed" Moore; nephew, Greg; and a host of cousins.

A graveside memorial service will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
