Barbara Scott Gunn, 80 , of Garden City passed away Thursday, February 18th, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice Savannah .
A native of Savannah, she was the daughter of the late Wilson H. and Grace Neidlinger Scott.
Barbara taught 2nd grade at Sprague Elementary School for 30 years and was an Honorary Charter Member of Garden City United Methodist Church and active in the Hooks Circle as well as a Sunday school teacher, pianist and choir member of the church. She was a member of the Garden City Zoning Committee, the Pride Association, and the Beautification Committee.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Jesse "Sonny" Gunn of Garden City, GA; her children, Mike Paul (Amy) of North Charleston, SC, Terri Hill (Mark) of Statham, GA, James L. Gunn (Patricia) of Pooler, GA, Jessica McEachern (Brad) of Savannah, GA, Jeff Gunn (Tonya) of Rincon, GA, Julie Fielding (Jim) of Savannah, GA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Garden City United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 22nd, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Garden City United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ashley Randall officiating.
Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Garden City United Methodist Church building fund or Hospice Savannah.
