Barbara Ann Kelly

May 30, 1935 — October 21, 2022

BARBARA ANN (FOX) KELLY, May 30, 1935 - Oct 21, 2022

Barbara "Bobbie" passed away at the age of 87 years old after painfully grieving her husband's (of 64 years) and eldest daughter's death from last year in Eden, GA. She was born in Flat Creek, Buncombe County, which is in the Asheville, N.C. area to Catherine Louise (Fox) Bazen - 1917-1987. Barbara spent her younger years growing up traveling and living with extended family members around the U.S. as needed to help care for their young children. While living in Columbia, S.C. in 1956 Barbara met and married Horace B. Kelly on the first day of January 1957. After leaving the Army they moved to Dallas, TX. where Bunky was from and started their family. Barbara was the proud and loving mother of 4 children: Karen Lynne (died 2021), Elizabeth Ann (who was hit by a car as an infant and depended on her mom for everything), Nora Katherine (Richard) Durham and Clayton Thomas (Michele) Kelly. Barbara moved across the U.S. with her husband and family to Oakland and San Jose, CA to Columbia, S.C. and on to Savanah, GA. After retiring Barbara and Horace shared a wonderful life in Eastern Texas where he designed and built their home. Liberty Baptist Church was a big part of her life while in Avinger/Jefferson, TX. Due to her increased illnesses they moved one last time to Eden, GA where Tom, Michele and their family accommodated them with an apartment they built to be close enough to help them out as needed. Sunday dinner has been missed for many years due to Barbara's failing health, she made the best fried chicken! Barbara was so proud to have had 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren and so many other children that she loved and helped care for over the years. Barbara loved children, nature, the outdoors, gardening and especially bird watching.

She is already missed by all who knew her throughout her life.
