Arnold Morton Ram, 90, of Savannah, GA, passed away June 18, 2021 at Buckingham South.
Mr. Ram was born October 3, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Irving and Ann Chattman Ram.
He attended school in New Jersey, graduating from Weequahic High School. He played football in high school and college. He received a Bachelor of Science in History from Upsala College in New Jersey, Masters in History from Wesleyan College, and an ABD Doctorate from University of Massachusetts in Administrative Education. After receiving his degrees, he was a teacher and coach at Millburn High School for many years. He was a member of the National Education Association and the New Jersey Education Association.
He proudly served his country as a United States Marine in the Korean War and later, entered the United States Air Force, where he worked in the intelligence division at Lackland AFB. Mr. Ram moved with his wife, Lenore, to Savannah, GA in 2003.
He was a member of Congregation Mickve Israel. In his spare time, Mr. Ram was an avid reader and an excellent athlete who especially enjoyed tennis, skiing, sailing and golf.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Michael Ram and a brother in law, Art Boden. Mr. Ram is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Lenore Francine Kotkins Ram; a son, Peter Ram (Kathleen); a daughter, Pamela Munoz (Michael); four grandchildren, Lilly, Gabi, Noah and Finley; sisters, Sondra Boden and Susan Goldman (Edward); and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 21, 2021 10:30am at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Hubert C. Baker Chapel 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406 with Rabbi Haas officiating. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
