Paula Letchas, 96, of Savannah, passed away Monday, March 12, with loved ones by her side.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Letchas,.
Paula is survived by a son, Sammy Letchas; daughter, Stella Hefner (Stephen); and daughter, Mary Epling (Steve). She was a loving Yiayia to Christine Hefner, Matthew Hefner, and Rory Blaney and to her three great grandchildren.
Paula was born in Karditsa, Greece in 1921. Along with her husband and two older children, she immigrated to the United States in 1956, originally settling in Thomasville, Georgia, and eventually in Savannah, where she and her husband Nick operated a tailor and alteration shop.
Visitation: will be held at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, on Thursday, March 15, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., followed by the Trisagion Service at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Services: 11;00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, with Father Vasili Mihai, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, Savannah, Ga., or Hospice Savannah.
