Annie (Ann) Louise Dorminey Rea, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 85 from complications due to Alzheimer's Disease. She was born the third child of the late Oswald Leonard Dorminey, Sr. and the late Lizzie Stella Parks Dorminey on May 26, 1939, in Poulan, Georgia. She graduated from Sylvester High School as a Valedictorian in 1957, and Carson Newman College of Jefferson City, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Art degree in 1961. Her husband's job with Gulfstream Areospace brought the family to Savannah, Georgia, in 1978.
She is preceded in death by her father, Oswald Leonard Dorminey, Sr.; her mother, Lizzie Stella Parks Dorminey; her beloved aunt, Ruby Lee Parks; her brother, Virgil Dorminey (Kathleen); her sister, Wylene Dorminey Hollman; and her beloved dogs, Maggie and Scamp.
Ann worked in the legal business for two decades with employment at Adams, Gardner, Ellis, Inglesby, and Falligant; The First National Bank of Atlanta; the U.S. Attorney's Office; and the JC Penney Legal Department.
Ann passed on her lifelong love of piano and music to her granddaughter Sarah and her love for tennis to her daughter Elizabeth. She loved to garden and could make a fake plant grow. Ann was a member of Compassion Christian Church, East Campus.
Ann is survived by her husband, Michael W. Rea; her daughter, Elizabeth Rea Singleton (Chuck); grandaughter, Sarah Singleton; grandson, Charlie Singleton; sisters, Margaret Peacock (Earl) and Loretta White (Freddy); brother, Len Dorminey (Vickie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 12:00 noon, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406). Burial will follow in Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, April 7, 2025 from 4:00 until 6:00 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406).
