Annie Julia Alderman, 88, of Rincon, GA, peacefully passed away June 6, 2023.
She was born March 8, 1935 in Danville, Georgia to the late James Daniel Davis and Elvenia Rutherford Davis.
She was raised in McIntyre, Georgia and Brooklet, Georgia alongside her three siblings. After high school, she met and married the love of her life, Bobby Alderman on December 22, 1950. The two moved to Savannah shortly thereafter.
Mrs. Alderman was employed by several Savannah area businesses including Union Camp, Byrd Brothers, and LabCorp. She was active in her faith and very involved with both Meldrim and Rincon Baptist Churches where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing, bird watching, fishing, cooking, and gardening.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alderman is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Alderman; son, Steve Alderman and three siblings
Surviving are daughter, Cindy Oder (Steve); son, Jim Alderman (Anne); grandchildren, Brian Waters (Melissa), Danielle Waters, Brandon Alderman (Ashley), Drew Alderman, Michael Oder and Robert Oder; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday, June 9, at Noon in the Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Greg Hartzog officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
