Anna Ruth Wright

Anna Ruth Wright, a beloved homemaker and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at her residence in Rincon, Georgia. Born in Hoboken, Georgia, on October 3, 1938, Anna spent her life nurturing her family and sharing her wisdom with those around her.

Anna was the daughter and only child of the late Doc V. McManus and Annie Thomas McManus, and she has now joined them in eternal rest along with her beloved grandson, Daniel Church Jr., and an infant great granddaughter.

Anna is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Oliver and Tina Wright, her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Wright, Kristina Banks and her husband Stefan, Scarlette Hakanson and her husband Chris, and Kristian Newsam. Her legacy continues through her six great grandsons and one great granddaughter, each of whom was a source of immense pride and joy for her.

A graduate of Savannah High School, Anna dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, a role in which she thrived, offering a home filled with love and warmth for her only child and greatest love, Oliver. This allowed her the flexibility to focus on what she valued most: her family. Anna was also a strong Baptist woman who enjoyed listens to Christian programs on the radio, and most especially the sermons of Oral Roberts and Catherine Coolman.

A memorial service to honor Anna’s life will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 7:00 pm at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel in Garden City, Georgia. All those who had the privilege of knowing Anna are invited to join her family in celebrating a life well-lived.
