Ann LaVerne Clanton, 82, of Savannah, passed away Wednesday, May 3rd, at Candler Hospital after a long illness.
She was born on September 30, 1934, in Savannah, a daughter of the late Al and Ruby Ryan.
LaVerne was a graduate of Commercial High School and worked at Ambos Seafood for over 40 years. In addition, she was a founding member of Savannah Christian Church where she was heavily involved in the prayer devotion and communion services for many years. LaVerne was deeply loved by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Robert S. Clanton; son, Joey Clanton; daughters, Kathy Royer and her husband, Steve, Kristy Godbold and her husband Gene and Robin Pearson and her husband, Roger; grandchildren, Michael Royer, Michele Royer, Mitchell Pearson and Lauren Pearson.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, May 7, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 8, in the chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
