Ann Hinely Shearouse, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at home.
Mrs. Shearouse was born in Effingham County and moved to Savannah, GA at age 7. Growing up, she was a Rainbow Girl, Girl Scout and a member of the MYF at Grace. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and later attended Armstrong State College where she was a member of the Methodist Club. She married and raised three children and later worked in the furniture business until retiring. She was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class, the Lydia Circle and the UMW. She enjoyed reading and television, but mostly enjoyed being with her family.
Mrs. Shearouse was preceded in death by her parents, Madge and Ernest Hinely; sister, Jane E. “Betty” H. Zipperer and husband Howard Zipperer. She is survived by a daughter, Julie S. Paige (W. Edward); sons, Stephen “Bubba” E. Shearouse (Susan) and Edward T. Shearouse (Angela); granddaughter, Jessica S. Thigpen (G. Jordan); grandsons, Edward T. Shearouse, Jr. and Hunter J. Shearouse; great-granddaughters, Alyssa Thigpen and Gracie Thigpen; sisters, Madge H. Schuman (M. Brunson) and Clara H. Burgin; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church, 6412 Waters Ave., Savannah, GA 31406. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
