Ann Yvonne Cowart Cox, 86, of Pooler, GA, passed away May 27, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
A native of Toombs County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Hamilton Sharpe Cowart and Hattie Mozelle Garrett Cowart.
Mrs. Cox was a homemaker who adored her family. She was a fierce defender of her children and doted on her granddaughters. She was a loving and kind woman but would speak her mind openly when she felt the need to. She enjoyed word searches, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and Dairy Queen ice cream. She was known for always being neat, clean and well dressed. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray Cowart, Robert (Helen) Cowart, James Cowart, Sydney (Melba) Cowart; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma (James) Smith, Cora Lee (Urban) Sanders and Barbara (Ray) Adams.
Surviving are her husband, Walton B. Cox; children, Cathy (Chris) Geren, Beverly Spivey and Byron Cox; grandchildren, Mary (Keith) Egan, Brandi Hudon, BreeAnn (Jason) Taylor and Leslie (Daniel) Crooms; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Hailee Arbogast, Hunter, Logan and Colton Egan, Greyson Crooms, Elizabeth “Lizzie” and Lucy Taylor; sister-in-laws, Doris Burnette and Grace Cowart; special sister-in-law, Molly Ann Hobbs.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 30, 2024 from 6-8pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel. Funeral service will be held Friday May 31, 2024 at 130pm in the chapel at Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City with Pastor Matt Black officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West.
