Amy C. Speir

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts to announce the passing of Amy Cheree Speir at the age of 51. Amy was born in Atlanta, Georgia at Crawford Long Hospital on October 11, 1971, and passed away on the morning of Friday August 4, 2023.

Amy was preceded in death by her father, Andy Speir, as well as her maternal grandparents, Jack & Peggy Gallagher and her paternal grandparents, Dave & Kitty Speir. She leaves behind her son, Greg Speir, & her mother, Mary Speir of Savannah and her brother, David and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Speir, and their two children, Grayson and William Speir of Union Point, Georgia. Amy also leaves behind several aunts and uncles as well as cousins and her very devoted best friends, Lisa Grenier and Angel Barefoot.

Amy was a graduate from St. Vincent’s Academy and went on to get her associate degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in several nursing homes in Savannah with Azalealand being her last employment.

Amy was a vibrant part of her family. She loved people and had an infectious laugh. She had a great sense of humor and could light up a room with her quick wit. Amy was a nightly Jeopardy fan and could amaze you with her wealth of information. She was an avid Falcons fan and enjoyed watching the games every Sunday with her family and friends. Amy will be dearly missed by all.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday August 9th from 10-11 am at St. James Catholic Church to be followed by a funeral mass at 11 am and a light reception at noon at St. James.
