Amanda Jean Herbert- May 11, 1977 - August 9, 2021 - passed away at her home in Baker, FL.
Amanda is survived by her husband, Brian Herbert; son, Jacob Herbert; daughter, Madeline Herbert; mother, Yvonne Strahle; father and step-mother, Thomas and Christina "Chris" Smith; sisters, Dawn Grogan, Jennifer "Jenni" Pierson; step-brothers, Marcus and Thom Strahle, Tobias Miller; also her loving Aunts, Uncle, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Amanda was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas "Little Tom" Smith II, grandparents, Wallace and Betty Benoit, Herman M. Smith, Maurice "Moe" and Theresa "Terry" Samson; step-father, Grant Strahle; uncles, Herman "Happy" Smith and Rene Benoit; and brother-in-law, Ronald Pierson.
Amanda was born in Washington D.C. to Thomas and Yvonne Smith. Amanda grew up in Savannah, GA where she graduated from Herschel V. Jenkins High School in 1995. After graduating, Amanda enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Medical Logistics Specialist. While stationed at Ft. Benning, GA, Amanda met and then married Brian Herbert in Savannah, GA November 10, 1997. Amanda graduated with a BA in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Green-Bay in 2010, then went on to earn her Nursing degree in 2019 while living in Baker, FL. Amanda had a personality that drew people into her. She was extremely passionate about helping others, which made her an exceptionally talented and dedicated nurse.
Amanda was a loving and dedicated mother to her cherished son Jacob (22) and precious daughter Madeline (13). Amanda was extremely close with her sisters Dawn and Jenni, as well as her Aunt Rhonda Benoit. Amanda's caring heart, bright smile, electric personality and Christian faith will be missed by all that knew her and all the lives she touched.
There will be a Graveside service on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 1PM at Hillcrest Abbey on Wheaton Street.
