Alfred Parker McPeters III, “Pete” age 79, passed away on September 1, 2022 at Azalealand Nursing Home in Savannah, Georgia. He is survived by his son Alfred Parker McPeters IV, “Al” and daughter Mary Alice Crabtree, granddaughters Anne Elizabeth Harkleroad (Travis), Lauren Elizabeth McPeters, Alyssa Faith Crabtree, Savannah Grace Crabtree and heavenly grandson Peyton Lucas Crabtree, former wife Mary Elizabeth McPeters, brother Jack Lissner, cousins that were raised like siblings Leland Moore (Beverly), Feche Shaw (John), Martha Cowart (Randy), Ginger Price Masingill and numerous second cousins.
Born in Macon, Georgia, he was the son of Alfred Parker McPeters II, who died heroically in World War II and Alice Elizabeth MacDonald McPeters. He attended Glynn Academy High School in Brunswick, Georgia. He worked as a technician for Pitney Bowes for 20 years before being employed by Mitchell’s Lodge and Hotel in Highlands, North Carolina until he retired.
He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting. Furthermore, he enjoyed boating, throwing the castnet, crabbing and going to the beach. Later in life he enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and watching them grow up and become successful. His greatest joy were his granddaughters. He was a great teacher of the safety and accuracy of shooting handguns and golf techniques to become a golfer.
A memorial service will be held on a future date. Family and friends will be notified and invited to attend.
