Albert John Frazier, Jr., age 73, of Wilmington Island, Georgia set sail on his final voyage Tuesday, April 23, 2024. He was born on October 25, 1950 in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Al graduated from Holbrook High School followed by Suffolk University in 1973 with a Bachelors of Science degree. He proudly served his country as a United States Navy Pilot stationed in Pensacola between 1973-1974. He then dedicated 27 years to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources where he retired in 2013.
A true lover of the sea and sun, Al was a sailor by day and a pirate by night. He was a great collector of fine swag, sand, and sailboats. Al always knew how to create a smile and catch a laugh. And could usually be found by the water, enjoying a local watering hole, visiting his family, and listening to Jimmy Buffet tunes along the way.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rita and father Albert John Frazier, Sr.
Al is survived by older sister Brenda Galligan and husband William of Quincy, MA along with his nephews Sean, Bryan, Craig, and niece Kerry. And younger brother, Scott Frazier and wife Dawn of New Braunfels, TX along with his nephew Paul. And his four sons and grandchildren Albert John III, 47(Lillian, 11 and Brody, 9), William Munro, 41 (Graeline, 10 and Way, 9), Michael McDonald, 37 (Ford, 6 and wife Kimberly), and Joshua James, 28 (Baby Sofia Jade coming soon and wife Carolina).
Captain Albert John Frazier, Jr.’s ship set sail too early but will be always remembered by his entire crew. When the time comes as it must, to awake in Sailors Heaven where nothing ever rusts. Always will there be, fair winds and following seas.
A celebration of life is to come. Once plans are arranged, his family will share with all that knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to support the Wounded Warrior Project.
