Alan Jerome Canterbury, 61, of Hampton, South Carolina passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia from injuries received in an automobile accident on December 30, 2022.
A native of Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of the late Leonard James Canterbury, Sr. and the late Dorothy Bell Driggers.
Alan was raised in Port Wentworth, Georgia and was a 1980 graduate of Robert W. Groves High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Canterbury.
Survivors include wife, Barbara Ann Stanley Canterbury; siblings, Anne Shealy, Donna Downs, Maria (Donnie) Maddren, Rev. Ken (Kathy) Jernigan, Leonard (Cynthia) Canterbury, Jr., Gale Huddleston (Lance Finster); several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other family and many, many friends.
Alan loved his family and never met a stranger. He always wanted the latest picture of each one of them for his wallet. He will always be loved and cherished by those he left behind.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Bridge Church, 630 Fort Argyle Rd, Savannah, GA 31419.
